I think one of the reasons everyone goes to matplotlib is because most production-level visualizations require a complexity (color scheme edits, shapes, shadowing) and set of labels (done in plt either way) not available in just using `df.plot()`. That being said, Seaborn is a much more intuitive package for those types of visualizations - a middle ground between pandas and plt!
